Heavy cut marks
I have a visor from a 1977 cabover which is aluminium, I took the paint off and wet sanded it smooth. I then proceded with a yellow airway, red tripoli brick and then a white brick and white airway. What has transpired is gouges in the aluminium with heavy cut marks. I have done tanks and wheels that are to a mirror but this is the second time this has transpired, the first being a vent door. Could the aluminum be too thin to be buffed out or do I need the final white brick with a softer pad?

Re: Heavy cut marks
Sounds like the aluminum was too thin...maybe less rpm or a smaller diameter buffing pad would have worked better.
